Background

Ten Years in Oral & Maxillofacial Care

Dr. Shahid Farooq completed his BDS and MDS — graduating as a Gold Medalist — at Government Dental College and Hospital Srinagar, University of Kashmir. His postgraduate training took him through Junior Residency in Periodontology and Senior Residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, both at the same institution.

He now teaches as Assistant Professor in the Department of Dentistry at Government Medical College, Kathua, alongside more than ten years of hands-on clinical practice. He also works as an on-call consultant surgeon for clinics and hospitals across Jammu & Kashmir, and has authored more than twenty research papers, presented at national and international conferences.

At SM Dental Clinic — Maxillo Facial Aesthetic Surgical Centre in Bemina, Srinagar, he brings that same academic rigour to everyday dentistry as well as more involved surgical and aesthetic work, with every case explained clearly before treatment begins.
